Incentives

Traineeships Incentives
Financial incentives from the Federal Government are available to employers to qualify their staff through traineeships.

  • $4000 paid through NSW Smart and Skilled to new workers that pass the eligibility criteria. Plus payroll tax exemption.
  • Payroll tax exemptions for new workers for the duration of the course
  • Assistance for tutorial, interpreter and mentor services
  • Assistance for Australian Trainees with a disability e.g. Wage Support
Commonwealth Government Incentives
Financial incentives from the Federal Government are available to employers to qualify their staff through traineeships.

These incentives are valued up to:
  • $4000 per person for a full-time staff member
  • $1500 per person for a part time staff member
Payroll Tax Exemptions
Business can potentially exclude the employee’s wage from Payroll tax for the full duration of training, up to 3 years.
Who is eligible?
To be eligible for a traineeship, staff must:

  • Been employed for less than 4 to 6 mths if full-time. Less than a year if part time.
  • The employee must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent resident. Employed in the industry they are completing the course in.
  • Be a permanent employee. Casual employee are not eligible for funding. Working over 15 hours per week.
  • Work a minimum of 15 hours per week, and
  • A New Worker (3 months full-time, 12 months part-time)
